# Icesheet

> Allocate practice ice to every team in a minor hockey association: hours targets, shared ice, curfews and coach conflicts kept, then print team schedules. Free.

Icesheet is a browser only practice ice allocation tool for the volunteer ice scheduler of a minor hockey association (Canada first, the United States second). The scheduler pastes the ice slots the association holds (arena, pad, date, start and end, full, half or third ice, prime or non-prime), or builds them from a weekly ice contract, and the teams (division, tier, target hours per week or per season, preferred arena, blackout dates), then sets the association's rules: each division's earliest and latest times, late slot cap and the ice sizes it uses, who may share a slot, one practice a day, a minimum gap between practices, pairs of teams that share a coach with travel time between arenas, prime and late slot definitions, and how shared ice is counted. A deterministic solver in a Web Worker allocates the slots and keeps the hard rules, never broken silently: a lock that breaks one is left out and named, and every team below its target is listed with the hours it got and the reasons for the ice it could not use. It then meets hours targets as closely as the rules allow, sharing any shortfall in proportion to each team's target, and evens out prime time and early and late slots within each division. The calendar review shows the season week by week; the scheduler drags a team to another slot with live rule flags, locks, swaps and rebalances. It prints team schedules, arena sheets by day, a fairness report and the unused ice list, with calendar files (.ics) and CSV. Team and ice names stay in the browser: nothing is uploaded. The association decides the policy, Icesheet applies it.

Free today. Drafts of up to 300 teams and 3,000 ice slots, any number of seasons and drafts, every printout, calendar files and CSV are free with no sign up. Nothing is for sale.

## What it is not

- Not affiliated: Icesheet is not affiliated with any hockey association, governing body, league, arena, municipality or ice scheduling software company.
- Not the decision maker: The association decides the policy, Icesheet applies it. It applies the targets, curfews and caps entered and explains what it could not fill.
- Not an arena booking system: it does not book, confirm or pay for ice; it shares ice the association already holds.
- Not a game scheduler: it allocates practice ice, not league fixtures or referees.
- Not a registration system: no accounts, rosters, payments or parent contact.
- Not an uploader: team and ice details are never sent anywhere; names stay in the browser and there is no server.
- No safety claim: earliest and latest times and late caps by age group are the association's settings.
